Quietude
On forest pond, skeeters hydrophobic feet
Blend edges of air and water
Gliding still water with silence
Skimming surfaces of quietude
Silent ripples of awareness
Mirror my mind in calm glimpses
Of my own Life’s miracle
As if my heartmind can
defy my body’s gravity
in this moment of quietude
Calming the surfaces of my soul
And I too walk on water
In my buoyancy of Spirit
in my connection to all things
Where air meets water—
Where the heavens touch the seas
How is it that quietude speaks
so loudly to me and thee ?
Sliding, skimming, skating, striding
between the seen and unseen
While reflections of peace float me
