Wisteria Tea

Oh to drink the purpling blooming

Steep myself in a Wisteria bath

Ingesting the scents of spring

through my skin…

I read today the petals are edible

Yet the stalk & leaves & pods are toxic

I have wondered about this discernment

process since childhood,

This ancestral knowledge of plants

Forged through forest blades,

meadow shades,

untold witches heroic escapades

complex pathways to elixirs unearthed

concocted, brewed,

revealing their worth

One part healing potion~one part poison

Oh How we must steep in our days

Listening deeply to all-that-is

To feel into our shared wisdom—

To drink only what nourishes,

and to leave the rest,

So ALL flourishes
