Play to Pray

I don’t know exactly what a prayer is a today

Yet I do know how to creatively play

The curious seven year old in me

Is as lively as I allow her to be

I don’t know exactly if I’m praying like you might

Yet I do know my wonderment delights

The joy of it from my heart resounds

Bending time until the NOW rebounds

I don’t know exactly how my prayers matter

Yet I do know they quiet the worlds chatter

The rising voice of higher Self can be heard

And there is always kindness in her wise words

I don’t know exactly what prayers will come to play

Yet I do know how to welcome them each day

They might want to dance, paint, or sing with me

And Tomorrow perhaps a silent game of poetry

I don’t know exactly what a prayer is for all

Yet I do know how to offer up the call

Prayers should be whatever you need of heartmind

Experimental play! hide and seek until you find…

Blessed be the freedom to uniquely and universally pray
