High Note
Elevation garden whistles
Whisking in water out of air
As if the clouds become the earth
Rooting wild flowers to the sky
Elevation foot steps whistle
Tapping rock and stream
As if the ground becomes holy
Baptizing me in mountain breath
Elevation cairns whistle
Guiding all those before, yet to come
As if the stars settle to peaks here
stacking high notes of Nature’s chorus
Elevation of Spirit whistles
Singing bodies of rock, tree, me
As if all glistening like glacier’s
Timelessness, ancient yet fleeting
Elevation high note
Whistling the high note of Soul
As if only reached through deep pilgrimage to the center of one’s heartmountain—
Only sung off tongues of wild
