High Note

Elevation garden whistles

Whisking in water out of air

As if the clouds become the earth

Rooting wild flowers to the sky

Elevation foot steps whistle

Tapping rock and stream

As if the ground becomes holy

Baptizing me in mountain breath

Elevation cairns whistle

Guiding all those before, yet to come

As if the stars settle to peaks here

stacking high notes of Nature’s chorus

Elevation of Spirit whistles

Singing bodies of rock, tree, me

As if all glistening like glacier’s

Timelessness, ancient yet fleeting

Elevation high note

Whistling the high note of Soul

As if only reached through deep pilgrimage to the center of one’s heartmountain—

Only sung off tongues of wild
