Light Eaters

Sometimes I need to bow my head

to see the sun

The Sun that blossoms light—

birthing forth from the earth

A fireworks radiance

from eating the sun all day,

digesting the moonlight all night

Sometimes must I look down to honor

the Sun

The Sun inside everything

Feeling the glow vibrating in me

Same glow that opens this flower

Same light that the stars feed us

A gifting, sent to find us in the future

Sometimes, especially in the darkest, strangest of times, when I lower my gaze

I deepen my sense of our shared biophotons,

the Sun drunken into everything

A light in my spoon, a radiance in your cup

May it runneth over from underneath

May the light pour up from our roots

May the Sun living even in the tightest seeds of heart

Burst with our shining shoots,

Opening ALL of us

Into a wider blooming…
