Forest Zen Walk

Forest Zen Walk

I Breathe in Life

I Breathe out Gratitude

I walk with those who walk with me

Blending our intentions of reciprocity

Sometimes behind,

Sometimes somewhere in the line

Sometimes ahead—

All helping with pacing,

placing each step, each breath

I Breathe in Life

I Breathe out Gratitude

Light lifts of feet, shuffled over roots

Drumming earth, time windswept

No burden of hiking in pursuit

No expectation of conversation yet

All in devotion to silence

Here in the woods to deepen

our listening of Grand Forest’s resonance

I Breathe in Life

I Breathe out Gratitude

The Mantra enters the swing of my limbs

as much from the limbs of those who walk with me as the from limbs of trees

As much from the song of Swainson’s  thrush

As from my heart beat, the woosh-wush

I feel the Gratitude making a bridge,

an extension of self to the extension of thee

Gratitude not an arrival, a place to be

Or something else to receive

Gratitude an awareness of our biodiversity Our inherent living links of reciprocity

I Breathe in Life

I Breathe out Gratitude

My Breathe of Life

Only here from reciprocity

Being breathed by trees

Being Walked by thee

May gratitude be a sensed as bridge

May I for you as you for me

All Life connected, a sacred village

Humans, trees and thee

Blessed be.
